Recently, the TrackGrip Inc team hit the road again. This time, we went seeking some Keto 660C2 action near Lac Mégantic, Quebec. On our last outing to Parent, we faced snow, sleet, and cold. Luckily, this time around the weather cooperated and and the sun was shining through clear skies. We got to see the 660C2 tackle a multi-trunk hardwood tree like nobody’s business. While not the largest of the Keto family, the 660C2 is a versatile harvester head. It features the standard track feed system unique to Keto. Additionally, the harvester comes equipped with a 360° degree rotator which allows operators to approach a tree from any angle during felling. This particular model also has twin length top and bottom saws with a maximum single-cut felling diameter of 62 cm (24 inches). However, with some counter-cutting, the 660C2 can easily handle even larger trunks. There are a couple of examples from seeing the Keto 660C2 in action near Lac Mégantic below.
