With a proven track record in Finland and Japan, the Keto 100 Karate harvester/processor is now available for the first time in Canada and the United States. This particular model is smaller than the Keto 660 or 870 models typically seen in North America. It has a single-cut felling diameter of 18″ (45 cm), and a delimbing diameter of 16″ (40 cm). It also comes loaded with neat features. Of course, you can expect the Keto Harvester standards like a continuous 360° rotator, Technion xLogger computer, and track feed for superior grip and triple length measuring. But let’s take a look at some of the unique inclusions for this model.
Equipped for multi-stemming
To begin, the Keto 100 Karate model is equipped with five rows of track cleats as opposed to the typical three. This model also boasts a fourth knife arm positioned near the saw. These features provide better grip and stability during multi-stemming operations.
Reduced head sway and increased downward tilt.
The Keto 100 Karate model also comes with a new tilt innovation. Instead of one cylinder, this harvester has two, providing more control over logs by reducing the amount of head sway while working. Additionally, the dual-cylinder setup allows you to tilt the head downwards about 15-20 degrees more than a single cylinder tilt. As a result, working on steep downhill slopes is a little easier.
Install your harvester on a smaller carrier.
This model gets its name from the included Karate hydraulic booster kit. This system works with the Technion computer to store a release energy needed. Consequently, you can typically install the Keto 100 on a carrier one size class smaller than usual. To give you an idea, the Keto 100 normally operates on 95 HP machines. The Karate hydraulic booster kit drops than requirement down to around 65 HP.
