The Technion xLogger system allows up to six different operators to customize their own joystick controls for the Keto Harvester head. Additionally, the xLogger keeps track of each operator’s hours and productivity. It also allows the machine owner to assign different levels of accessibility to different operators. You accomplish all of this by first creating a profile for each of the harvester’s operators. In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a profile and where you can adjust each profile’s password and accessibility settings. Watch the video below or read on for more!
NOTE: You need to have an owner or service level, password protected account in order to complete this tutorial.
01. Open the main menu
Boot up the xLogger system and log in to reach the main screen. Select the three stacked horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of your screen. Hitting “OK” on your navigator or tapping that area of the screen* opens the main menu.
02. Open the “Operator” menu
Use the navigator to highlight “Operator” from the main menu, then hit “OK”. Alternatively, tap the the appropriate menu item on your screen*. This opens the operator menu.
03. Select your profile
The top row of tabs shows you all of the existing operator profiles saved on the xLogger system. Make sure that your account (the one with owner or service level access) is highlighted and active (blue with a green circle in the example below). If you logged into your account with your password, the green circle will be next to your profile. Otherwise, log out and log back in with your account.
04. Navigate to the “Information” tab
Using the navigator or by touching the appropriate area on your screen*, select the “Information” tab in the second tab row of the operator menu.
05. Select the “Add Operator” button
Using the navigator or by tapping the appropriate area on your screen*, select the “Add operator” button. If using the navigator, hit “OK”.
If the error message shown below pops up, you have already reached the maximum number of allowed profiles (6). You will need to delete an existing profile before you can make another one.
If no error message pops up, it will appear as if nothing happened after you hit “add operator”. However, you should see a “new operator” tab has appeared in the top row of tabs. If you have several operators, you might need to scroll through the top row of tabs to see it. Using the navigator, select the “new operator” tab you created, or tap the appropriate area of the screen*.
06. Rename your profile.
Navigate to the first field in the “new operator” window. Hitting “OK” on your navigator or tapping on this section of the screen* opens a keyboard that allows you to rename the new profile you have created. You can also skip this step an assign a name later by following our renaming profiles tutorial.
07. Make the profile selectable.
Make sure the green checkmark is visible next to “selectable”. If it is not, your profile will not appear on the list of operator accounts on the login screen when the system boots up. Without a checkmark, it will only be visible and editable through a service level account.
08. Set the user level.
Select the user level by opening the dropdown menu. Setting the user level gives the operator more access to system and head control settings the higher the number gets. You cannot assign an operator level higher than that of your own account. So, an owner level operator cannot create a service level profile. However, an owner level operator can create operator profiles from 0 – 4, as well as other owner profiles.
If you want to create an owner level or service level profile, you will need to set a password for the new account first. You can set passwords for other operator levels, but it is not required. To set a password, navigate to the “password” button and hit “OK”, or tap the appropriate area on your screen*. A virtual keyboard will appear, allowing you to create a password.
09. Copy head controls from another account.
While each operator profile’s joystick controls are completely customizable, you might want to simply copy the controls from another profile just to get started. Next to “Copy keys from”, open the dropdown menu. You can select from the existing profiles stored on the xLogger system. Once you have selected a profile, hit the “copy” button directly beneath the dropdown menu.
Your new profile is complete.
At this point, your initial setup of the new operator profile is done. It will appear in the login menu the next time you boot up the system, or if you log out of your current account and return to the login screen.
*tapping the screen is only possible with an upgraded 12″ monitor. The standard 8.4″ screen does not have this functionality.
